Klaus Goersch is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Atlas Air Worldwide. With nearly three decades of aviation leadership experience, Klaus has deep expertise in complex airline operations and a strong regulatory background. Klaus is responsible for advancing Atlas’ commitment to operational excellence, growth, and transformation in service of the company’s customers.
In this role, Klaus oversees the company’s global flight, ground, and technical operations, focusing on safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. He also serves as Atlas’ primary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration and leads strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining industry-leading safety standards.
Before joining Atlas, Klaus served as Chief Operations Officer at Air India, and prior to that served as Chief Operating Officer for British Airways and Air Canada. Additionally, he held positions as Chief Executive Officer of NEOM Airlines and as Executive Vice President, Operations and Customer Service at AirTran Airways.
Klaus holds a Master of Aeronautical Science and a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
