Recognized for our unwavering commitment to promoting international awareness and fostering cultural understanding through involvement with the World Affairs Council
Inspiration takes flight when passion meets purpose. Atlas Air Worldwide is honored to be recognized by the World Affairs Council – Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as the 2024 Community Partner of the Year for our commitment to developing global talent and inspiring the next generation of aviation pioneers.
This recognition highlights our collaboration with TechGirls, an international exchange program that has transformed the lives of 781 young women since 2012. The program provides hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills development and mentorship to students ages 15-17 from regions including the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and beyond.
A standout moment of our partnership was Atlas’ hosting of international students at our Global Operations Center in Anchorage for an immersive job shadow experience. Our team facilitated meaningful connections through one-on-one mentorship and organized a dynamic panel discussion featuring industry leaders from Atlas, GE Aerospace and Cincinnati Milacron. With more than 45 participants in attendance, the event showcased the power of collaboration in inspiring future STEM leaders.
“Watching students discover their potential in aviation and engineering is incredibly inspiring,” said Leisa Spears Snyder, Director, Workforce Development. “Through initiatives like TechGirls, we’re opening doors to aviation careers by fostering critical skills such as cross-cultural collaboration and empowering the next generation to reach new heights. This recognition reflects the passion and dedication of our entire Atlas team in making these opportunities possible.”
This honor was celebrated at the World Affairs Council’s Annual Meeting on February 13 at the Mercantile Library in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, and reflects Atlas’ broader commitment to maximizing our social impact by fostering a strong pipeline of STEM talent, ensuring the aviation industry’s continued success, and creating lasting, positive change in the communities where we live and work.
